Tenda

Autonomous AI coordination for construction

Tenda is building an autonomous AI coordinator for the architecture, engineering, and construction industry, starting with the submittal review process. Commercial construction loses $177 billion annually to coordination friction, with project engineers spending up to 20 hours a week auditing thousands of pages of technical PDFs to ensure subcontractor materials match architectural intent. Tenda automates the submittal loop end-to-end, running compliance checks and drafting cross-stakeholder responses instantly while keeping general contractors in control.

Biak Tha Hlawn is the co-founder and CEO of Tenda. The first Hakha-Chin refugee to attend Stanford, she is pursuing her master’s in Product Design and Sustainability. She is joined by her CTO Wayne Chinganga, who earned his master’s in Computer Science at Stanford after building solar generators from scrap in Botswana, and led the development of vision and language models at Meta that scan over 80 million files daily.
