Neuro Safety Systems is tackling the $20 billion fatigue crisis in trucking with a wearable device that helps prevent accidents before they happen. Neuro Safety Systems replaces reactive driver-facing cameras with a headset that uses electroencephalography to detect neurological signs of fatigue before drivers can reliably assess their own alertness. When reaction time begins to fall below safe thresholds, their headset delivers an auditory nudge to restore focus and provides fleets with the objective neural evidence needed to intervene earlier, reducing preventable injuries and keeping both families and assets safe.

Avaneesh Babu is pursuing his bachelor’s in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Johns Hopkins University and brings experience in surgical bioelectronics from his time at the FDA and Harvard Medical School. He is joined by Ryan Bohluli, a published researcher specializing in neuromodulation and wearable EEG devices, Lucas Wein, a hardware engineer focused on automation and optics, and Will Blake, whose work spans cognitive neuroscience and mechanical systems design.
