On-site CO₂ utilization for iron and steel industries

Helix Carbon is decarbonizing the iron and steel industry by transforming emitted CO₂ into carbon-neutral syngas directly out of iron furnace waste streams, all without expensive carbon capture technology. By creating feedstocks that are chemically identical to those created by fossil fuels, Helix Carbon can uniquely build drop-in electrolyzers that integrate with existing facilities, enabling green steel production in an industry with limited decarbonization options.

David Brown is a veteran, engineer, and founder. David graduated from the United States Military Academy with a degree in Chemical Engineering and is an MBA candidate at MIT Sloan School of Management. He has nearly a decade of leadership and operational experience serving as an officer and AH-64D helicopter pilot in the US Army, where he executed combined arms operations domestically and abroad. His co-founder, Dr. Ariel Furst, is a professor in Chemical Engineering at MIT.
