Avelis is building AI agents that identify errors in medical bills, appeal insurance denials, and negotiate directly with hospitals on behalf of patients. Over 100 million Americans have medical debt, and it is the leading cause of personal bankruptcy in the United States. Avelis is eliminating the financial burden associated with the healthcare system and has already saved patients over $25,000 since launching in March.
Angel Onuoha is an MBA candidate at Stanford Graduate School of Business, a Harvard graduate with degrees in computer science and economics, and a 3rd-time founder. Angel is the founder of BLK Capital, an organization dedicated to helping diverse students launch careers in financial services. BLK partners with over 60 Wall Street firms to support thousands of students across 150 universities. In 2021, Angel co-founded Zuvy, a startup that provides invoice discounting for small businesses in Nigeria. Zuvy has raised $4.5 million to date and has provided financing to over 3,000 SMBs.
