BloomBox Design Labs provides access to STEM education through modular solar-powered labs, providing electricity, internet, and educational resources to off-grid communities. BloomBox’s patented retractable solar roof system enables efficient energy generation and secure transport, allowing for deployment in remote and disaster-affected areas. BloomBox provides internet to these areas through their partnership with Starlink and serves educational content through SuperBloom, a learning platform that connects students via AI-curated short videos.
Sofie Roux is an Architectural Engineering student at Stanford University and the CEO of BloomBox Design Labs. She founded the company to foster a global educational network and achieve universal access to high-quality education in low-resource environments. Sofie’s BloomBoxes have brought electricity, multimedia educational, and high-speed connectivity to over 7,000 students in Malawi, with plans to scale to serve 200,000 students within the next 5 years.
